At the beginning of this year, I was invited to join The Backyard Peace Project as an expert ambassador, a global platform where leaders from all healing backgrounds offer their transformative healing processes, guidance, and insights to support people on their journeys of growth, self-discovery, and well-being. Shortly after, I was given the incredible opportunity to contribute to this powerful anthology, The Backyard Peace Project: Volume One 'Finding Peace Through Struggle', a collection of stories celebrating hope, resilience, and human transformation.

It is such an honour to be a co-author alongside some truly extraordinary authors, each sharing their personal journeys of healing, growth, and purpose. My chapter, “Threads of Love: Breaking the Cycle of Trauma”, explores the thread of love passed down through generations and how it guided me through childhood trauma, self-discovery, and ultimately, transformation.
Here’s a little teaser from one of the most intense and formative moments in my story:
"I grew up in a world divided, not just by walls, but by fear, control, and oppression. My parents were children of the Cold War, carrying the scars of war and displacement, and the weight of mental health struggles and missing limbs that told stories of generations before them. At home, abuse and hostility were constant, a reality I had to navigate every single day. I felt the weight of it all pressing down on me, yet somewhere deep inside, I sensed a thread of love that refused to be extinguished…"
This moment was just the beginning of a journey that would take me deep into healing, self-discovery, and understanding the unbreakable thread of love passed down by my grandmothers. It was this love that ultimately guided me to reclaim my sense of self, embrace boundaries, and nurture my capacity to heal myself and others.
Through my chapter, I share how I learned that loving someone isn’t enough, you must love yourself first. I explore the profound impact of emotional intelligence, self-love, and somatic healing, and how these practices allow trauma to be released at a cellular level, rather than simply masked by temporary fixes.
Writing this chapter was a deeply personal and transformative experience. It allowed me to reflect on the creation of the SOAR Process™, my own journey of trauma healing, and the work I do with clients every day. My hope is that my story inspires readers to find the thread of love in their own lives, even amidst life’s greatest challenges.
You can read the full anthology online or order your hard copy here.
Being part of this anthology, alongside such incredible co-authors, has been an absolute honour. Their stories inspire, uplift, and remind us all that even in the darkest nights, resilience, hope, and peace are possible.
Thank you for reading, for supporting my journey, and for celebrating the power of love, healing, and human resilience.
You are loved.
